Welcome to Easy Macros, your ultimate guide to making nutrition simple and effective for weight loss. Understanding and managing your macronutrient intake doesn’t have to be complicated. With our easy-to-follow tips and tools, you can achieve your weight loss goals without the hassle.
What Are Macros?
Macros, short for macronutrients, are the nutrients your body needs in large amounts to function properly. They include:
➤ Proteins: Essential for muscle repair and growth.
➤ Carbohydrates: Your body’s primary energy source.
➤ Fats: Necessary for hormone production, brain function, and energy.
Tracking these macronutrients ensures you get the right balance of nutrients to support your weight loss and overall health.
Why Focus On Macros?
Focusing on macros can help you:
➤ Improve Nutrient Quality: Prioritize whole, nutrient-dense foods.
➤ Enhance Satiety: Feel fuller longer with the right balance of protein, fats, and carbs.
➤ Customize Your Diet: Tailor your food intake to your specific weight loss goals.
How To Calculate Your Macros
Determining your macros involves a few simple steps:
➤ Determine Your Caloric Needs: Use a calorie calculator to find out how many calories you need to maintain your current weight.
➤ Set Your Weight Loss Goals: Decide how many calories you need to cut from your daily intake to achieve your weight loss goals.
➤ Calculate Your Macros:
Note: I am not a doctor nor do I play one on TV. I utilized the advice of both my doctor and my nutritionist to determine what was the best combination of macros for my personal weight loss journey.
➤To lose the weight and to maintain, I use the following:
➤ Protein: 40% of total calories
➤ Carbohydrates: 25-35% of total calories
➤ Fat: 25-35% of total calories
For ME, the key to weight loss is in the balance of Carbs and Fat. If I am following the macros, and I am not losing weight, I change up the AMOUNT of overall food that I am eating. I don’t actually count calories after I have found what works for weight loss and maintenance.
Easy Macro Tracking Tips
